OMG Day 1 of my new world is ending!

Well I was almost done with renovating a little spot I found when it started to turn dark.
I hadn't found a shelter yet so I was kind of freaking out. So I used some sand I had and made a tiny little shelter
and right now I'm just hoping it's gonna work.

I found a squid thing in MineCraft!

While I was messing around MineCraft I found this odd squid thing.....

Is this creature rare or is it common. But I read on the wiki that they are the first water mobs in MineCraft.
